Tape in Hair Extension Care Tips

Use lukewarm water (around 32°C / 90°F) and a sulfate-free shampoo. Keep conditioner away from the tape area to avoid loosening the adhesive. Cleanse gently—avoid scrubbing near the roots.

Use a wide-tooth comb or a loop brush. Start from the ends and work up slowly. Always hold the roots near the tape to reduce tugging and prevent slippage.

Use lightweight, silicone-free leave-in products and focus only on mid-length to ends. Avoid any serums or masks near the tape tabs.

Avoid applying heat directly to the tape tabs after installation, as this can weaken the adhesive. Heat styling is fine on the hair itself—just keep tools away from the bonds. Also, avoid tight hairstyles that pull on the extensions.

Tie hair in a loose braid or ponytail before bed to prevent tangling. Use a silk or satin pillowcase to minimize friction.
When swimming, always wear a swim cap to shield tape tabs from water and chemicals. Avoid saltwater and chlorine exposure when possible.

If you remove the extensions, store them in a clean, dry place, ideally in their original package or a sealed bag. Keep them flat and detangled for the next use.
