Hair Topper Care Guide

1. Washing Frequency

• Daily wear: every 2–4 weeks

• Occasional use: every 7–10 wears

• High activity/sweating: wash more often as needed

2. Detangling Before Washing

Use a wide-tooth comb or paddle brush. Start from the ends and work upward to avoid breakage.

3. Washing Instructions

• Fill a basin with lukewarm water and mix in a small amount of sulfate-free, salon-quality shampoo.

• Hold the parting/base area and gently dip the topper in and out of the water — avoid rubbing or twisting.

• Rinse thoroughly with clean lukewarm water. Repeat if needed.

4. Conditioning

• Apply conditioner to mid-lengths and ends only — avoid the base.

• Rinse thoroughly until water runs clear.

• Use a deep conditioning mask once a month for extra moisture (especially for blonde toppers).

5. Drying

• Gently blot with a microfiber towel — do not rub.

• Air dry on a mannequin head overnight.

• If using heat tools, wait until completely dry and always apply a heat protectant. Use low heat.

6. Brushing & Styling

• Brush regularly since toppers don’t receive natural scalp oils.

• Never brush when wet.

• When styling, secure the topper on a mannequin head using T-pins through the clips only (not the silk top).

• Limit use of styling products; avoid root cover-up sprays that may stain the base.

7. Professional Touch-ups

Schedule occasional trims or color adjustments with a stylist who is experienced with hair toppers.

8. Storage Tips

• Store on a mannequin head with clips closed and hair gently detangled.

• Keep away from heat, humidity, and direct sunlight to prevent damage or color fading.
